The Skatalites en Lima

Este viernes 17 de agosto llegan nuevamente al Perú The Skatalites, gracias a Ska Town Eventos, celebrando el 50 Aniversario de la Independencia de Jamaica.
Y por si fuera poco, aparte de escuchar a los legendarios Skatalites en vivo, se unirá a la fiesta la banda brasileña Dubiterian, dándonos un gran evento donde prime el reggae, dub y ska.
La cita es en Toro Retro Bar, ubicado en Calle Salaverry 143, Barranco, Lima, Perú.

Paisley: La Historia de los Pepinillos Persas

Anduve hasta hace poco maravillado por unas buenas camisas Ben Sherman, que divise entre tantos catálogos virtuales, en busca de hacer valorar más una camisa por lo bella de la tela que por lo bello de los cortes y fue cuando llegué a dar con el nombre -perdonen la ignorancia- de tan legendario diseño, el Paisley o Cachemira (en castellano).

Basado en un patrón de cunas Indias y Persas. Originalmente tejidos los motivos, Inglaterra y Alsacia fueron tomando dichas telas en el siglo XIX para la elaboración de bellas camisas, corbatas y pañuelos; esta vez en una versión estampada, para abaratar costos de producción.

Llamado también Peras Galesas o Pepinillos Persas, este patrón ha sobrevivido hasta nuestros días siendo parte fundamental o un detalle en miles de diferentes atuendos y culturas

Parecido a una gota de agua retorcida, la cachemira en forma de riñón es iraní y de origen indio, pero su nombre se deriva del oeste de la ciudad de Paisley, en Escocia central.con poco o nada de evolución en los motivos.

La complejidad de sus imágenes ha sido utilizada hasta hoy en día por Mods, Rockers, Psicodélicos, Freakbeaters, Garagers, Poppers, entre muchas otras corrientes.

Es por eso que hoy en ModPerú, hacemos un pequeño espacio para los que desconocían el nombre o para cualquier otro curioso que quizá ahora se anime a incorporarla a su guardarropa. Yo por ahora espero con ansias a que mi sastre me entregue la mía. Hasta luego.

Hola a todos, ha transcurrido un año ya desde aquel noviembre en el cual preparamos la selección por el primer aniversario de ModPerú, recopilando y seleccionando cada tema para una entrega. Parece mentira el que hayan pasado 2 años desde que se inició la primera publicación de esta bitácora. Pues es este preámbulo el punto de partida para nuevas publicaciones, nuevos contenidos y diferentes temas que serán abordados en el ciclo nov 2011-nov2012. Gracias a todos aquellos seguidores, detractores, blogs amigos, visitantes casuales y  no tan casuales porque es en conjunción con todos ustedes (y ellos) que hemos hecho que este espacio se mantenga difundiendo la cultura mod y todas sus variantes de alguna u otra forma.
